This
month's feature product: Triassic
Triops Triops are creatures that date back to prehistoric
times. This starter kit is a great first pet(s) that teaches children
about responsibility, nature and the fragility of earth's creatures.
Set up is easy and the eggs are sure to hatch if the directions
are followed properly. These fascinating creatures start out the
size of pin heads and double in size until they are around 1 1/2
inches long. At two weeks, they will have already grown to be
around 1" long. They have loads of personality, which includes
unique ways of eating and moving through the water. If well taken
care of they may live up to three months.
1.
The kit comes with plastic tank, eggs, food, sand
packet, pipette, instructions and thermometer
2.
Spring water is added to the tank and the thermometer
is placed on the side of the tank
3.
The contents of the sand packet are added and spread
evenly on the bottom of the tank
4.
The eggs may be added after the water is monitored
and has reached the proper temperature
5.
Plenty of food for the Triops is included in the kit
and added according to Triops' size
6.
About every week or two the water must be replaced
- part of the old is poured in the toilet
Growing
daily, as the images indicate, the Triops are constantly
putting on a show while eating and exploring the
tank!
7. The pipette is used to remove the Triops'
waste from the bottom of the tank
8. Fresh spring water is checked for the proper
temp. and added to the tank
